Two patients can walk into a clinic with the same complaint, fatigue, and have almost nothing in common underneath it. For one, the cause is hormonal. For another, it is sleep, activity or diet. Sorting out which is doing the work has become the organizing principle of Jwalant (J) Patel’s practice.
His path to that view was indirect. Originally from India, J Patel began as a registered pharmacist before moving to the United States, where he earned an MBA in Healthcare Management in Ohio and attended Physician Assistant school in Massachusetts. He practiced primary care in New Hampshire for six months, then moved to Texas to work full time at a spine institute while serving as a Physician Assistant in the U.S. Army Reserve, and later joined a hormone clinic. His wife, whom he met in Ohio, completed dentistry at NYU and is a dentist in private practice and a U.S. Army Reserve dentist; they have a son and a daughter.
Each setting added to the same picture. In primary care, patients whose basic labs looked fine still did not feel their best. At the hormone clinic, many improved once hormones were addressed, but not all of them got the whole way there. In the Army Reserve, fatigue in otherwise fit soldiers created problems that spread into everything else. J Patel began working with more detailed lab panels and studying how sleep, nutrition, activity and stress influence inflammation and overall health.
MyFitMed grew out of that work. It opened in 2017 as a single room inside a chiropractic office and now operates multiple locations serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with telemedicine available across Texas. The practice offers hormone therapy, medical weight loss, peptide therapy, comprehensive lab panels, IV and intramuscular vitamin therapy, body composition analysis, nutritional guidance and supplement recommendations based on an individual’s labs and needs.
What ties those services together is the objective. Rather than resolving a symptom in isolation, care is aimed at improving overall health, energy and body composition, which is also why body composition matters more than weight alone; building and preserving muscle tends to serve patients better than a lower number on the scale. Patients often describe the effect reaching well past how they look and feel, into their work, their businesses and their relationships.
The process is built to start with information. Every patient begins with comprehensive labs and a consultation covering current health status, lifestyle and goals, followed by a visit to customize the plan. Identical symptoms can have entirely different root causes, which is why J Patel evaluates a patient from several angles before recommending anything.
He extends that thinking through free education on Instagram and YouTube, where he breaks down hormones, metabolic health, nutrition and lifestyle for a general audience. For Jwalant (J) Patel, longevity is less about living longer than about maintaining healthspan: energy, performance, metabolic health and quality of life over time, built through small, consistent changes.
He is direct about where the popular tools fit. “People talk about hormones, peptides, vitamins and biohacking, and all of those things matter,” he says. “But I genuinely believe there is no magic pill. Sleep, quality food, exercise, relationships and managing stress are the foundation. If that isn’t in place, none of the rest works.”
That philosophy also shapes MitoMins, a practitioner-formulated brand centered on cellular and mitochondrial health that is preparing to launch, built around transparent ingredients, appropriate doses, bioavailable forms and no proprietary blends. J Patel describes it as “built from patient lab data, not marketing.”
As healthcare moves toward prevention and personalization, his premise stays straightforward: meaningful health optimization begins with understanding the whole picture.
